2026-2027 Staff Calendar Survey

calendar

The SLPS Calendar Committee has been hard at work developing a draft calendar for the 2026-2027 school year.  This team works together to balance multiple viewpoints and ensure compliance with applicable state laws and regulations.  For example, schools in Missouri may not begin earlier than 2 weeks prior to Labor Day.  For the upcoming school year Labor Day is later in September which necessitates a later start to the school year.  Additionally, schools must have at least 169 student days and 1044 instructional hours on the calendar.

When reviewing the calendar please note that the dates recommended for the end of the 1st semester are to support a more equal number of days in each semester.  Professional development is a feature of both calendar options – though in slightly different formats.

Your feedback is important as we work towards finalizing a recommendation for the SLPS Board of Education to adopt.  Please take a few minutes to review the two attached draft calendar options and respond to a quick survey to provide us with your feedback.  The survey will be open until 3PM on November 19, 2026.
